Revit Cut Roof With Void
I ve got the window in a face based family and will cut either the roof if that s the face i put it on or the floor if i put it on that face but not both.
Revit cut roof with void. If you want to cut host element automatically at the moment of face based void placement you have to cut host element first. My problem is that i simply can t get a void to cut the roof and the floor underneath. In the family category and parameters dialog select cut with voids when loaded and click ok. But you can use cut tool and select host element then void and then you will have a cut there.
I m trying to make this roof window as attached. Determine the length of the void ideally in 3d view at wireframe mode extend this in order to. Simply select the cut geometry tool then select the floor element first and then select the family second. Subscribe to the repro products channel.
Place the void family and cut it with your framing family. Cutting with voids in families when loaded open the revit family with unattached voids and click create tab properties panel family category and parameters. When you load it to the revit project and place on any surface it cuts host element automatically. You can use model in place when you want to cut system families like roofs or walls.
Please note that this cutting of the geometry was only possible because we checked the parameter cut with void when loaded. Workaround copy the original structural framing element. Ideally in a section view draw the contourline of the void using the pick line option on the base of the inside edge. My other problem is that even if i accept that i have to put it on the roof it always follows the.
Revit will think that the structural framing is cut forever. Create an in place family roof at choosing void extrusion. Just model a void extrusion e g. Model in place won t work.
Load the family into the project and place it.
